Kylie Minogue releases fashion retrospective book:Before Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry married music with fashion, there was Kylie Minogue.

The singer suggested a look at her fashion choices, especially her stage costumes, in a new book called Kylie Fashion.

"It was very nice to look at my life in fashion over the years," Minogue said in a recent interview. "There have been ups and downs and great moments and not so great moments, but in fact the book was a celebration of 25 years."

Yes, the 45-year-old admits that even some fashion faux pas.

"I had some moments that were less than stellar because we all make mistakes along the way. A number of ideas that we thought were fantastic at that time were in retrospect, a big mistake," she said. "That's all part of my trip and actually it's what I like about fashion. "

From skimpy outfits to showgirl costumes with feather headdresses, Minogue was game to try it all. For performances, she seeks showstoppers that will look good from the back of a large hall and hold up through 100 shows.

"I was about to say," things you can move in. .. " wait a minute, about half of my costumes you can not move, "she said with a laugh.

She learned that lesson the hard way decked out in headdresses, feathers and corsets on her Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour in 2005.

"Therefore showgirls have self-confidence, because you can not really tip your head," she recalls.

Minogue says there have been times when she suits so late that she jumped in to help stabbing them backstage. Then there is the "quick change" in and out elaborate costumes - something she likens to a Formula One pit stop, with four people to help her.

"A lot of things going down in the rapid change. It depends if the show is going well or not going well what kind of vocabulary I choose 'she said with a laugh.

Minogue says there is no time when rushing to dress, joking, "your passport category first base." Shy

If they are away from the stage and at home, Minogue claims she "can go to frumpsville totally sure."

"I am a complete letdown. Coming home from the stiletto. Comfortable clothes go. I would like to maintain this illusion that I kind of elegant floating around house or something, but I need that balance in my life ... to just totally anti-fashion and just what is closest to, and home is the place to do that. "

In addition to her book, Minogue is back in the music studio. She recently signed with Roc Nation and says they work with some great producers who said she was on her "bucket list",

"I kind of had to pinch myself and say, 'This is great," she said.
